DEET 30-40% for effective mosquito protection - dengue mosquitoes are day-biters and active. 'Natural' oils (citronella, lemon eucalyptus) are less effective and need reapplication every hour. Apply mornings, reapply after sweating or swimming. Combine with long sleeves at dawn/dusk. Picaridin 20% is also effective and less greasy - available on Amazon or specialty shops. Bring your own; local repellents work but often lower concentration.

DEET 40% + permethrin-treated shirts. Thanks!

Also worth: permethrin-treated clothing (spray at home before flying) - lasts 6+ washes. Adds a second layer of protection during hikes and safaris. Sawyer Products makes a good permethrin spray.
