Star trails require 30-90 minutes of dark sky. Best spots: Wilpattu overnight camping zones, Yala buffer areas, Meemure village in Knuckles (2000+ km from major cities), Kalpitiya remote lagoon peninsula. Bundala rest house area also works.

Technique: 30-second exposures on interval timer for 45-90 min, stack in StarStaX (free) or Photoshop. Or single long exposures 20-45 min with dark noise reduction. Batteries: bring 3-4, cold overnight drains fast. Compose with foreground interest (tree, ruin, rock).
