Still dry on the street deep into the evening with only a partly cloudy sky. Leave the light shell at the hotel on a quick lobby run, or keep carrying it just in case. Not keep-on shell as the main hour-in ask, not rain-sheet sellers, and not weather-app jargon.

If it has stayed dry for hours and the shell is annoying, a quick lobby drop is fine — many travelers do. Keep a compact fold in the daypack if anyone is anxious. Do not invent a rain event; watch the sky you are under.
