Straight talk - is Colombo worth 2 days or just go to the coast?

First time. Everyone gives me different answers. Some say Colombo is charming, others say skip.

Skip. Or 1 night max as a transit night if flight timing forces it. Colombo has some good restaurants, Galle Face at sunset, Gangaramaya Temple, that's about it for a tourist. Not charming in the way Old Cairo or Havana is charming. It's a working South Asian capital. If you have 10 days, 1 night is enough. Save the days for beach or hills.

Contrarian take: 2 days works if you're food-obsessed. Kaema Sutra, Ministry of Crab, Nuga Gama, Palmyra, Cafe Kumbuk, Barefoot cafe - the food scene is actually excellent. But if food isn't a priority: skip.
