Camera person in the group. Second Kumbal listed 6:41. A cafe upstairs on Colombo Street asked us to buy drinks and stand at the window. Is that a lived option or a polite no, and is the street actually closer to the elephants anyway.

Street is closer. Window is a postcard with a glass reflection. Flash off, drone in the bag, no tripod on pavement. Phone is enough. A long lens is fine if you stay on the pavement.

Buying a drink to stand at a window is ordinary. It is not a reserved balcony. If they then ask a per-person view number, walk.

We did the window. Nice flags. Missed the closest elephants. Street next time.

If an elder needs a sit and a loo, the cafe is the kinder night. Camera can stand the street.
