Coast has higher heat stroke risk on sunny days — high humidity + direct sun + physical activity. Hillcountry has LOWER heat risk (cooler air, higher elevation) but higher UV — SPF still critical. Coastal risk peaks 11am-3pm; hillcountry has all-day UV risk.

Prevention: hydrate constantly (electrolyte tablets in water), wide-brim hat, UPF sun shirts on trekking, take shade breaks every hour, limit hard exertion 11am-3pm. Symptoms of heat stroke: confusion, hot dry skin, headache, nausea — immediate action: cool, hydrate, seek shade, medical if severe.
