Best silhouette spots: Mirissa Coconut Tree Hill (palm trees against sunset), stilt fishermen at Ahangama (staged for tourists but photographic), Galle Fort ramparts + lighthouse silhouette, Sigiriya Rock from Pidurangala. Time it for 15-30 min before sunset.

Technique: expose for the bright sky (metering), let foreground go black, backlit warm palette. Underexpose 1-2 stops for punch. Sunbursts happen 5-10 min before actual sunset. Long lens (85-135mm) compresses palm silhouettes beautifully.
