Talangama Wetland Tank (Battaramulla area, Colombo suburb near immigration office) is a genuine surprise — right in the city, 250+ bird species recorded, easily accessible via car or PickMe. Walking path around the tank; morning golden hour is magical with mist over the water.

Free entry. Bring binoculars and small camera. 60-90 minutes covers the whole tank. Great pre-lunch activity if you're visiting immigration for visa extension nearby. Kingfishers, cormorants, purple herons, and pond herons regular sightings.
