Heading toward Peradeniya this morning. Better as a metered taxi or a city bus with the gardens stop, given festival-week traffic. Not half-day timing versus dinner, and not spice-garden Matale stop.

A taxi is simpler with kids or bags; city buses are fine if you know the stop and are not racing a dinner reservation. Festival traffic can stretch both, so leave earlier than the map suggests.
