Ethics: (1) ask permission before shooting. (2) offer small tip (200-500 LKR) if you take multiple portraits or spend time. (3) show photos on screen after taking. (4) share prints back if possible (some workers welcome mailed prints later). (5) do NOT romanticize labor — pickers work hard for low pay.

Best portraits: engage in conversation first (Ayubowan + wave), let them relax, use 85-135mm for compression. Avoid formal poses — natural mid-work is best. Kandapola, Nuwara Eliya, Haputale estates all accessible. Don't slow down the picker's work.
