Most murals photography allowed WITHOUT flash. Long exposure often needed. Verify at each temple — some monasteries prohibit any photography inside. Best murals: Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara (Solias Mendis 20th century), Dambulla Rock Temple, Aluvihare.

Technique: tripod usually not allowed, high ISO (3200+), fast prime lens (24mm f/1.4 or 35mm f/1.8). Look UP for ceiling murals — many spectacular. Wide angle for full ceiling composition, prime for detail. Never lie down on temple floor for angle.
