Saturday 22 Aug, Kandy, last Kumbal before Randoli. Listed 6:28 PM. We are elder with a stick. Pin in mind: the fruit-stall side that wants you to buy water to hold space. Whip-crackers too close for a four-year-old. Street if we can. No municipal ticket I will invent. Water already in the bag.

5th Kumbal table 6:28 PM on Saturday 22 Aug is when they start leaving the Maligawa, not when the tusker fills the pin. Drums first, dancers, then the heavy bit. Do not invent a closure on the animals; take a step back if you need air. No touching, no feeding, no selfie stick over the line. From the fruit-stall side that wants you to buy water to hold space, two people back still sees the shape. Return bend is when people get stupid — peel before. Kumbal is a real night, not a failed Randoli. Saturday 22 Aug is the last Kumbal; Randoli nights follow after this.

Carrier, water, peel when limp. Ordinary tiredness.

One soda, ten minutes, move. Do not camp a four-top for email. No gazette.

Ask two people. The first story about the fruit-stall side that wants you to buy water to hold space is not a timetable.

We dumped bags first. Dragging hard-shells into a kerb is theatre. Then tea.
