Saturday 22 Aug, Kandy, last Kumbal before Randoli. Listed 6:28 PM. We are grandmother flies CMB tomorrow afternoon. Pin in mind: the palace-wall shade that is street, not courtyard. When does the cortege bend back toward Maligawa. Street if we can. No municipal ticket I will invent. Water already in the bag.

5th Kumbal table 6:28 PM on Saturday 22 Aug is when they start leaving the Maligawa, not when the tusker fills the pin. Drums first, dancers, then the heavy bit. Do not invent a closure on the animals; take a step back if you need air. No touching, no feeding, no selfie stick over the line. From the palace-wall shade that is street, not courtyard, two people back still sees the shape. Return bend is when people get stupid — peel before. Kumbal is a real night, not a failed Randoli. Saturday 22 Aug is the last Kumbal; Randoli nights follow after this.

Locals stay where they can stand. Pride argues with a pole and then buys a plaster.

We peeled before the return. The crush after the last drummers is when people get stupid. Named the fare.
