Trying to tip fairly without overdoing it. What is normal tip culture now for half-day drivers, guides, and temple shoe-keepers — cash handoff, tip jar, or rounding up — for ordinary tourist days.

Cash handoff to the person who helped you beats a vague tip jar when you can. Small notes for shoe-keepers; larger thanks for guides and drivers who stayed patient.

For half-day drivers, agree the hire first, then tip for good care at the end. Do not let tip talk rewrite the base fare.

Rounding up a restaurant bill is fine. Temple attendants appreciate modest cash more than foreign coins they cannot use.
