Toddler is melting down about an hour into the cortege. Quiet walk one block back then try to rejoin, or commit to the hotel stream for the rest. Not an opening peel-off for bedtime, and not kids dinner before standing.

If they are past coaxing, a quiet one-block reset is kinder than forcing another hour. Rejoining the same curb is hard once you leave — treat hotel stream as the honest backup if the meltdown continues.

Toward lake hotels the walk is calmer than pushing deeper into the ring with a crying child.

A short sit on a bag sometimes resets them — try that before you abandon the spot entirely.
