Saturday 22 Aug, Kandy, last Kumbal before Randoli. Listed 6:28 PM. We are three friends who will argue on the pavement. Pin in mind: Torrington slope if you will peel early with a sleeping kid. Free pavement two metres from the paid row — take free. Street if we can. No municipal ticket I will invent. Water already in the bag.

Street is free. A Queen's-side or hotel ledge is a hotel package, not a municipal ticket. Do not invent an official seating fee. With an elder I would pay a ledge; without, I would stand Torrington slope if you will peel early with a sleeping kid and keep the money for an AC room. 5th Kumbal table 6:28 PM on Saturday 22 Aug is when they start leaving the Maligawa, not when the tusker fills the pin. Kumbal is a real night, not a failed Randoli. Saturday 22 Aug is the last Kumbal; Randoli nights follow after this.

Inner path, closed shoes. Spray edge is how you meet the clinic.

If you sit a table, order. Occupying shade with a bottle you brought is the rude version. Fine.

Harbour board, no promise. We sat the bay instead. Fine.

We took the quieter fork. No one clapped. No gazette.

Muffs on the four-year-old. Ninety minutes. Then tea.

We walked. Fine. The first number at Kandy was a test. Then tea.
