I am hoping to photograph the elusive Red Slender Loris in the Knuckles cloud forests. Are there designated night trails for this, and what is the best low light lens to use without blinding them.

There are no "designated" trails for them because they move through the high canopy. You must hire a specialized local tracker from the Deanston or Meemure side who knows their eye-shine reflections. For gear, use a fast prime lens (like an 85mm or 135mm f/1.4 or f/1.8). You must ONLY use a red-light headlamp to spot them, and NO flash photography. White light damages their massive, sensitive nocturnal eyes.

The Knuckles range gets extremely cold and misty at night. The fog might completely ruin your autofocus, so be prepared to pull focus manually in the dark.

Is it better to look for them near the cardamom estates or deep in the untouched cloud forest.
