Train from Arugam Bay versus a highway van to Batticaloa — view we wanted or the clock we actually have

26 Aug, Arugam Bay. We need Batticaloa without turning it into a maybe. Ordinary bags, no suitcase theatre. Friend with a camera already used the patience budget on yesterday's delay.

Highway van if the clock is real. Train if you can miss a sit and you like the window. Ask the station board at Arugam Bay, not a WhatsApp uncle. Do not invent a line closure for 26 Aug. Ordinary leftover wet is not a cyclone.

We took the van. Arrived. Fine. The train would have been a postcard.

Kids: van. Pride stands three hours for a seat that does not exist.

Reserved seat is a reserved seat. Unreserved is a maybe. Pick one.

If the board says delayed, believe the board, not a cousin.

We sat the train. Late. Fine. Worth it once.

Do not buy a 'guarantee' from a platform vendor.
