Train WC stayed locked the entire hill journey — how do people actually cope between stations?
Kandy toward Ella. The coach toilet door stayed locked or out of order the whole ride. I limited water and still needed a stop. Conductor shrugged. Partner is already planning the next long train. What do travelers actually do — time station platforms, board empty, or is there a quieter workaround I am missing without making a scene?

Locked or broken coach toilets happen. Cope by using the station facilities before you board, going easy on drinks, and stepping off at a longer halt if the conductor confirms there is time. Do not force a locked door. Some coaches open later in the trip; some stay shut. I will not invent a toilet unlock fee. Plan the bladder like you plan the seat — empty before departure, watch the longer stops, and accept that some scenic rides are low-fluid days.
Timed a short platform toilet at a longer stop. Conductor knew the dwell. Tight, but fine.
Last-resort sealed empty bottle stayed unused after I planned stations better. Still glad I had it.
Will empty at the station and pack less tea next time. Thanks for the halt tip.
