For Trincomalee beaches, Nilaveli is generally considered superior if you want a quiet, pristine, and relaxing atmosphere. The sand is white and the water is incredibly clear.

Uppuveli is closer to town and has a busier backpacker and bar scene, making it a bit noisier but much better if you want nightlife and more restaurant options.
