Plaque on the wall, leftover rain, kid already done with stones. I want them to see it without turning it into a lecture or a selfie.

Five quiet minutes if they will stand. Skip if they will not. It is a plaque, not a museum ticket. Read it yourself, say it simply, move. Do not invent a guided hour. Do not climb on it. The Fort has other stones. Respect is shorter than a tantrum.

We read it, they nodded, we walked. Fine.

Kids wrecked: skip. Pride forces a minute of silence that lasts twenty seconds.
