Udawalawe ticket counter looks cash-only and my safari budget is still on the card — ATM in town first?
Jeep is booked for tomorrow morning. Gate chatter says bring rupees for tickets and that cards fail or are not taken. I do not want exact fee folklore — just whether travelers still withdraw in Embilipitiya/town the afternoon before, or if counters have quietly added card machines.

Plan on cash for park tickets and related gate payments unless you have confirmed card acceptance that same week at that counter. Machine uptime changes; travelers still get stuck when they assume a foreign card will save them at opening time. Withdraw the day before in town, keep small and medium notes, and treat the jeep fee and ticket fee as separate conversations with your operator. I will not quote foreigner ticket prices here — they change and posted boards beat forums. ATM before dawn is a bad plan if the machine is empty.
Withdrew the afternoon before Yala and Udawalawe. Zero drama at the gate. Card stayed as backup in town.
ATM run done. Envelope for tickets separate from jeep cash. Sleeping better.
