Family Sunday in Unawatuna. If the coastal advisory is still up, is snorkelling with kids a bad idea, or are the bay spots sheltered enough.

If the advisory is still active, skip pushing kids into snorkel water. Sheltered corners help, but swell wraps in more than Instagram suggests.

Glass-bottom or dry reef lookout beats a scared first snorkel. You can always try Monday if seas ease.

Watch what local families do for fifteen minutes. If only teens are out past the calm patch, keep little ones on the sand.
