Traditional Sri Lankan house construction follows Vaastu-influenced principles — east-facing main door (auspicious), specific room placements by direction, water source placement (northeast typically). Still followed by traditionally-minded families, less by modern urban builders.

For tourists interested: some heritage bungalow stays showcase traditional principles (Ceylon Tea Trails, some Bawa properties intentionally deviate). Interesting cultural insight when touring a Sri Lankan family home. Similar to Indian Vastu Shastra but with local adaptations.
