Staying lake-side and planning to walk to Dalada Veediya after 3 PM. Which lake-edge approach stays least fenced on First Randoli afternoon, and when does that path usually tighten.

The quieter lake-edge arcs fill later than the main Dalada approaches, but after mid-afternoon barriers still creep out. Leave a little earlier than you think and keep one alternate side street in mind.
Temple-facing curbs on Dalada Veediya pack first. If you arrive from the lake, slide toward shopfront side streets rather than forcing the front curb.
Do not count on a tuk the last two hundred metres after 3 PM. Walk shoes matter more than the ride.
