27 Aug, Weligama, on a drier east morning. Partner wants the lighthouse stretch before breakfast. Need a local, not a brochure.

Wait. Rampart stones stay slick until late morning after a proper night rain. Sandals on that stretch is how you meet the clinic. Walk the inside lane. Nobody is closing the Fort. Arrive early, sit low, zip the water.

Pride bargains twenty minutes in the drizzle and arrives in a mood. Weligama was the pin.
