27 Aug, Weligama reef, at opening. Partner wants the lighthouse stretch before breakfast. Need a local, not a brochure.

Wait. Rampart stones stay slick until late morning after a proper night rain. Sandals on that stretch is how you meet the clinic. Walk the inside lane. Nobody is closing the Fort. Fairly heavy rain possible west, hills, Galle, Matara — still not a colour code.

We queued the next ATM. A line is not a shutdown. Weligama reef was the pin.

Skip is polite. On 'Galle Fort cobbles slick after night rain — sandals now ' — board, not desk.

Fan, not a scene, if the room is damp. Weligama reef was the pin.
