Rental companies in Sri Lanka are generally fair, but they will document every single scratch. If you return the car with a new scratch, they will absolutely deduct the repair cost from your security deposit.

This is why it is critical to take a very slow, detailed video of the car before you drive away. If a dispute arises, having clear video evidence of pre existing damage will save your deposit.
