The Padparadscha sapphire is the absolute rarest and most highly prized gemstone found in Sri Lanka. Its name translates to lotus flower, describing its incredibly unique, delicate color that perfectly blends pink and orange.
Never buy a stone claiming to be a Padparadscha without a formal, certified document from the National Gem and Jewellery Authority explicitly confirming its completely natural, untreated color profile.
Because true Padparadscha stones are so incredibly rare, they are vastly more expensive than standard blue sapphires. If a street jeweler is offering you one for a cheap price, it is 100 percent a fake or a synthetically treated stone.
