The absolute best time is incredibly early in the morning usually leaving the shore around 6:30 AM. The ocean is perfectly flat and calm before the afternoon winds pick up making it vastly easier to spot the dolphins.

Between November and April the morning boat rides practically guarantee sightings of massive spinner dolphin pods. Afternoon trips are highly discouraged because the water gets very choppy and uncomfortable.

If you leave at sunrise you also completely avoid the intense midday tropical heat while sitting on a completely open boat without shade.
