A Grayl GeoPress is arguably the best water filter bottle for Sri Lanka. It physically presses and filters out viruses, bacteria, and heavy metals from the tap water in seconds, making it completely safe to drink anywhere.

LifeStraw is also excellent, but it requires you to suck the water through the filter, which can be tiring. The Grayl allows you to filter water and pour it into a cup to share or make coffee.

Using a filter bottle is highly recommended. It saves you money and drastically reduces the massive amount of single use plastic waste generated by tourists buying water every day.
