The gift shops sell many confusing grades. Which one is best for strong morning tea.

The grading system strictly denotes the physical size of the processed tea leaf not necessarily the quality. BOP stands for Broken Orange Pekoe offering a medium sized leaf that brews a beautifully smooth highly aromatic bright liquor perfect for drinking plain.

If you want a highly powerful robust morning brew specifically designed to hold up perfectly against heavy milk and sugar exactly how the locals drink it you must absolutely choose the stronger BOPF grade.

BOPF stands for Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings. These are incredibly tiny finely crushed pieces of the exact same leaf. Because they are smaller they infuse into the hot water instantly creating a massively strong intensely robust dark cup.
