Wood apple is a local fruit with a hard shell that looks like moldy wood. The inside pulp has a very funky, pungent smell, but when blended into a thick juice with jaggery palm sugar and a pinch of salt, it is incredibly delicious and refreshing.

You can find fresh wood apple juice at almost any local fruit juice stall or small cafe across the country. It is highly prized by locals for its digestive health benefits.
