What to wear to a local Sri Lankan wedding?
My guesthouse host invited me to his daughter's wedding! What is the appropriate attire for a foreign female guest so I don't embarrass them?

First of all, what an honor! For a woman, a Saree is highly appreciated and will make the family very proud. If you cannot get a Saree, wear a modest, elegant floor-length dress with your shoulders covered. Absolutely NO white (reserved for funerals/temples) and NO black (bad luck). Bright, festive colors are best!
I will definitely buy a bright Saree and ask the host's wife to help me drape it. Thank you so much for the color tips (no black/white)!
Also, if there is a religious ceremony (Poruwa ceremony), there will be a moment when everyone stands out of respect. Just follow the crowd.
Go to a local tailor or a shop like Odel/House of Fashions and ask them to help you buy a Saree. Then, on the morning of the wedding, ask the ladies at the guesthouse to help you drape and pin it. It is a wonderful bonding experience.
