If you want completely mild, sweet dishes, you must try traditional Sri Lankan Hoppers. The plain versions are totally mild, and you can order them sweet, sprinkled heavily with sugar. Another fantastic option is Kiribath, or milk rice, which is rich, creamy, and completely spice free.

For curries, the famous Sri Lankan Dhal Lentil curry is generally very mild and creamy, though you should confirm with the waiter. Also, try the sweet Pumpkin Curry or the mildly spiced Cashew Curry, both of which are deeply flavorful but entirely lack the burning chili heat.
