Sri Lanka was honored with the PATWA International Travel Award for Destination of the Year Diverse Island Experiences during ITB Berlin on March 4, 2026. This highlights the unique ability to experience beaches, wildlife, and ancient heritage within very short travel distances. It has already led to an increase in European tour operators adding more multi city itineraries for the 2026 season.
