Wheelchair and two grandparents stuck on the lake kerb - which side of the loop is actually thinner

We got here at 4.30 because someone said lake side was the view. Grandad cannot stand, the chair cannot reverse, and the crowd has closed behind us. Is Raja Veediya thinner. Is the inland pavement even possible. Maligawa site has a special-needs number but that looked like a temple lift not a street extraction.

Lake-side Dalada is the densest strip in the city tonight. The thinner movement is inland and, once police allow, toward Raja Veediya / the return arm - still not "easy," just less of a wall. Ask the nearest officer to help you peel perpendicular off the lake; do not try to roll along the procession. DIG said pavements for devotees must stay clear - a trapped wheelchair is exactly when you use that.

081 223 4226 is the temple special-needs line for a lift from the main entrance during visiting hours. At 8.40 that is not a street-rescue service. Use 081 22 33 333 / the officer in front of you.

We saw police open a gap for an elderly woman on Wednesday once someone actually asked. The crowd will not volunteer the gap.
