Where to buy true Alba grade Ceylon Cinnamon quills near Koggala
We are doing a luxury boat tour on Koggala Lake. Can we buy the highest quality Alba grade cinnamon directly from the island peelers, or is that strictly for export.

You can absolutely buy it direct, but you must specify that you want Alba grade. Alba is the thinnest, most prized quill, roughly the diameter of a pencil, and has the sweetest flavor. The cinnamon islands on Koggala Lake will demonstrate the peeling process, and if you ask the master peeler, they will bring out their premium stock for you.
The smell of fresh Koggala cinnamon is unbelievable. I bought a small bottle of pure cinnamon bark essential oil from them too. It is fantastic but very strong.
If you want it beautifully packaged for gifts, the Spa Ceylon boutiques or Barefoot carry beautifully boxed Alba cinnamon, though you pay a premium for the packaging.
Do not mistake Cassia for true Ceylon cinnamon! True Ceylon bark is brittle, papery, and layered like a cigar, whereas Cassia is a thick, hard, single piece of bark.
