The absolutely magnificent Groote Kerk universally known locally as the Dutch Reformed Church is completely open to respectful foreign visitors. It features phenomenally beautiful original honeycomb brick floor tiles and deeply historic deeply carved gravestones embedded directly into the ancient walls.
Entrance to these deeply historic sacred buildings is entirely completely free of charge but they do highly appreciate a tiny respectful cash donation in the wooden collection boxes to help meticulously maintain the deeply ancient fragile colonial structures.
You unequivocally must also visit the spectacular All Saints Anglican Church. Built entirely from solid stone with incredible heavy local timber pews it represents a flawless brilliant masterpiece of Victorian Gothic architecture perfectly preserved in the tropical heat.
