Trying to time our arrival. After 3 PM on First Randoli day, which side of Dalada Veediya fills first — temple-facing curb or the opposite shopfronts.

Temple-facing curb packs earlier. Shopfront side fills next but often still has gaps if you arrive closer to 4. Side lanes off both stay usable longer than either main face.

Locals who want free watching often peel into the side streets before the main gallery locks. Follow that pattern if you are not chasing a front-row photo.

Coming from the lake, you will hit the shopfront geometry first — decide there whether to cross or stay.
