Worry about tracking mud and dew into the hotel lobby carpet after a late peel. Wipe outside, or just go in carefully. Not hotel laundry bag for soaked clothes, and not shirt soaked change-in-lobby.

Wipe soles on the outdoor mat, tell the desk you are coming in damp, and shed wet shoes at the room door if they prefer. Hotels on Perahera nights expect this — courtesy beats hovering outside forever.
