Realistic 80/20: pack a solid reusable water bottle with filter (Grayl, LifeStraw), reusable coffee cup, cotton produce bags, bamboo cutlery kit, a metal straw, and a soap bar (avoids single-use plastic toiletry bottles). Refuse single-use polythene bags at all shops — say 'no bag please' clearly.

Where it breaks down: street food often comes in polythene (accept, or bring container to takeaway), fresh coconut water in plastic straws (bring metal alternative), hotel toiletry minis (ask reception for regular ones). Bulk snacks/fruit at local markets are lowest waste.
