It is physically possible, but highly dangerous and generally not recommended. In August, the southwest monsoon brings torrential rain and hurricane-force winds to the peak. The path lights are turned off, the food stalls are closed, and the 5,500 wet concrete stairs are incredibly slippery in the dark. If you twist an ankle, there is no emergency help available.

I did it in the off-season. We were in total darkness, soaked to the bone, and saw a wild leopard on the lower stairs. Do not do it alone.

If you must climb for the challenge, do it during daylight hours, not for sunrise. The views will be completely blocked by thick clouds anyway.
