Yes, the local bottled water brands in Sri Lanka, such as Krest, Elephant House, and American Water, are completely safe, highly regulated, and heavily filtered. You absolutely do not need to waste money buying expensive imported international brands.

You can buy these reliable local bottles at any tiny roadside shack, pharmacy, or Cargills supermarket across the entire island. Always quickly check that the plastic seal around the cap is completely intact before purchasing to ensure it has not been refilled.
