It is roughly 360 to 400 steps, and they are quite uneven. However, it is not a sheer vertical climb; there are broad landings where you can stop, rest, and watch the monkeys. Take it very slowly, go early in the morning before it gets hot, and bring plenty of water.

My mom managed it fine by taking 5-minute breaks at every landing. Just remind him not to feed the monkeys, they can get aggressive if they think you have food!
