Are there any secret historical sites in Colombo for tourists.

A fantastic secret historical site is the Old Town Hall located deep in the Pettah market district. It is a stunning, slightly decayed British era building featuring old vintage trucks and fascinating colonial municipal artifacts inside.
You should also visit the Dutch Period Museum nearby. Housed in a beautifully restored 17th century building, it offers a incredibly quiet, educational escape right in the middle of the most chaotic part of the city.
Scam Watch: colombo
Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
