Are there hidden waterfalls near Ella that do not require long hikes.
We want to see beautiful cascades but cannot walk for hours. Any roadside gems.

Yes, Ravana Falls is the ultimate roadside gem. It is located right on the main A2 highway just a few minutes drive down the mountain from Ella town. You literally step out of your vehicle and the massive waterfall is right there.
While it is incredibly easy to access, this also means it gets very crowded with tourists and street vendors. To enjoy it peacefully, simply hire a tuk tuk to take you there just after sunrise before the tour buses arrive.

People outside stations offer to "help" buy tickets but charge large markups. They may buy cheap third-class tickets and sell as more expensive classes.
