I have been backpacking for 2 weeks. Can I find coin-operated laundromats in places like Kandy or Ella?

Self-service coin laundromats do not really exist here. However, almost every guesthouse or hostel offers a laundry service. You give them a bag of clothes, and they wash, sun-dry, and fold it for about 500-1000 LKR per kilo.

Yes, just ask your host! But be warned, because they sun-dry everything, if it is raining for 3 days straight, you won't get your clothes back until the sun comes out.

Ah, dropping off a bag sounds way easier than sitting in a laundromat anyway. Thanks for the heads up on the drying time.
