Not asking the dollar rate, already saw 333 the other morning. I need a week's rupees before A-Bay because those machines die. First HNB gave me 20k and a fat fee. People say Commercial goes to 50k. What is the actual foreign-card ceiling so I am not paying the fee four times.

Foreign cards pay a flat operator fee each dip (commonly a few hundred LKR - screens show it). Limits vary by machine and by your card, often quoted in the LKR 20,000-60,000 band; some Commercial machines are the ones travellers report as higher (around 50k). Take the maximum the screen offers, once, decline USD conversion. Then get to A-Bay with a brick, not a hope.

Commercial in Ella let me pull more than HNB in the same street. Next day the same bank gave me less. Try two banks, do not stand at one dying box.

Count the bundle at the machine. Split cash. A-Bay still runs dry by afternoon.
