I am looking to start my mornings with traditional herbal porridge like Gotukola or Hathawariya. Are there specific street vendors or parks in Colombo that sell it authentic and fresh.

The absolute best time to find fresh Kola Kanda is between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM. You will find traditional vendors set up right outside the gates of Viharamahadevi Park and near the walking tracks at Independence Square. They serve it piping hot with a piece of jaggery.
